SOUL CARVINGS

 Soul carvings, emotions in wood, using an adz & axe I venture into the wood. with very little preconception. Maybe a simple line drawn on the block of wood a few cuts made on the band saw. I start a journey to seek out the soul (the soul of the tree) after cuts are made on the bandsaw, I start peeling away what shouldn’t be. I then switch to detail carving tools and a lot of sandpaper (I am of course a professional sander). The pieces are then finished with appropriate finishes and the journey is complete. this is an overview of a soul carving. see individual descriptions for the path taken to find their soul.
